Aven’s Village
In 2013, the Chambers family along with various organizations, businesses and residents partnered with the City of Greeley to support, develop, and finance a universally accessible playground. Shane’s Inspiration, a non-profit company that supports projects for children with disabilities, helped conceptualize the playground. Aven Mondy, a local youth who uses a wheelchair, was chosen as the playground’s namesake.
Opened in October 2016, Aven's Village is an all-inclusive playground geared towards all ages and abilities. This all-inclusive concept takes play one step further than an accessible playground by incorporating many types of play such as physical, sensory and social activities that appeal to a broad range of users.
